Adoption Fees & What's Included

• Adoption fee is $175 for all dogs, with the exception of sponsored pets.
• All adoptable animals are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, de-wormed, microchipped, and free of parasites such as fleas and ticks.
• Upon adoption, new pet parents are sent home with their new dog's first 6 months of heartworm prevention, a starter bag of H-E-B Heritage Ranch food, and a voucher for a free wellness exam at participating veterinarians.
• If you fall in love with a heartworm positive dog, we provide treatment at no extra cost to you!
• Senior For Senior: Individuals aged 60+ can adopt a senior dog (6 years+) for just the cost of heartworm prevention (price varies by weight).

What is a Sponsored Pet?

Any dog that has been a resident of GCHS for more than 1 year — the only adoption fee will be the cost of the 6 month heartworm prevention.

Does submitting an inquiry form reserve a pet?

No, submitting an adoption inquiry only lets us know that you are interested and speeds up your adoption in the shelter. We do not place holds on animals. All animals are adopted on a first come first serve basis.
