How We Save Lives
Partnering with shelters across South Texas to save animals facing euthanasia.
A Shift in How We Save Lives
Over the past several years, we've refocused our resources on the animals at greatest risk — those scheduled for euthanasia at county shelters that lack the space or funding to save them. This shift means the majority of the dogs and cats in our care come from partner shelters, not from the general community.
Every animal we pull from a partner shelter is one life closer to the future we're building — a Coastal Bend where no healthy, adoptable pet is put down for lack of space.
What We're Working Towards
Our work doesn't stop at our own shelter. We're investing in the programs, partnerships, and people that will save more lives across the region.
Mentoring Other Shelters
Sharing what we've learned so more organizations can save more lives in their own communities.

Prioritizing At-Risk Lives
