Adoption Fees & What's Included

• Adoption Fees:
  • Kittens under 1 year old — $60
  • Cats over 1 year old — $50
• All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, de-wormed, microchipped, and free of parasites such as fleas and ticks.
• Upon adoption, new pet parents are sent home with a starter bag of H-E-B Heritage Ranch food, and a voucher for a free wellness exam at participating veterinarians.
• Senior For Senior: Individuals aged 60+ can adopt a senior cat (6 years+) for just the cost of heartworm prevention (price varies by weight).

What is a Sponsored Pet?

Any cat that has been a resident of GCHS for more than 1 year — the only adoption fee will be the cost of the 6 month heartworm prevention.

Does submitting an inquiry form reserve a pet?

No, submitting an adoption inquiry only lets us know that you are interested and speeds up your adoption in the shelter. We do not place holds on animals. All animals are adopted on a first come first serve basis. Whoever comes in to meet the animal first will get the first chance to adopt. However, if you leave without adopting, your spot will not be held.
